Boating at Deer Creek

The other day we had the opportunity to go boating. I hadn't been boating in the longest time and I was totally craving it. Kim was excited, but not as excited as I was. We had family in town and it would be the last time the whole fam would be together before my brother Mike goes to Iraq in September, so my parents rented a boat up at Deer Creek for half the day. All I really cared about was the wake boarding but in talking with Kim I  learned that she had only been boating a few times and had never dared to be pulled behind the boat. A little bit later after having watched my nephews and niece Kim turned to me and said, "that kinda looks like fun, I want to try it." She strapped on a life jacket like a fearless warrior putting on their armor and then cautiously got into the tube. She was so brave out there.  I got to wakeboard and unfortunately received a minor tear in a ligament in my right hand, but it was all totally worth it.
