Skiing!

Besides being passionate about Kim and eating out, I love Skiing! I owe my addiction to my brothers. They taught me how to really ski and float around the mountain. Ever since Jr. High I have looked forward to one thing each year, and that is ski season. Since Kim and I are newlyweds we still lack the funds to be able to do a few things. Skiing is one of them. I have always known and been taught that if you do what you are supposed to the Lord will take care of you. I guess I have been doing something right because the Lord has blessed me this ski season.

It started when I entered my business card at a Christmas party my company had been invited to. I never win anything, but this time my card was drawn for two adult day passes to Sundance. Sundance isn't my favorite but when you're poor you can't be picky. I was more than happy to take them. It is two ski days that I didn't have before. A few days later Kim's parents gave us a hefty amount of money for our Christmas. That bought me a day and a half of skiing at Alta with my brothers and nephews while they are up here for Christmas. What a great present! The latest blessing happened as I was passing through my parents neighborhood and one of their neighbors flagged me down and asked me if I wanted two passes to The Canyons for $20 each. I immediately said yes. The only problem was that the passes had to be used yesterday. Luckily I have a very understanding boss who gave me the day off so I could enjoy a great powder day. 

 

I went with one of my great friends Matt Peay. matt and I served together in Maceio and always talked about skiing and how we would go together when we both got home. It was a great day and the snow was amazing! It was my first time to The Canyons. I had always talked bad about The Canyons because of the rumors I had heard but my opinion had changed. (Alta and Snowbird are still the best.) It was Matt's first time in 2 1/2 years and my first time of the season. Thanks Matt for going with me. It was a blast!
