Poor Shawn

This week has been an interesting one. On Wednesday, Shawn woke up with what looked like a zit on his forehead. Well over the next several hours, it started to swell up and by the time he got home from work, it looked like a giant squishy goose egg. It hurt and was giving him a headache so he tried to pop it but it only bled. Anyway, the next morning around 5 or 6, he woke up and had to run to the bathroom. About every ten minutes he was in the bathroom, super sick. He even camped out right in front of the bathroom door. He had the chills really bad and even though our house was plenty warm, he couldn't stop shivering. He had 3 huge blankets over him and still was freezing. Poor guy. So we got a doctors appt to make sure everything was ok. At the doctors, he had to leave several times to go to the bathroom. I felt so bad and so did everyone who saw him. It was very obvious that he was sick since he was an interesting shade of green. Well, the doctor wasn't sure what was wrong, flu or food poisoning, infection....who knows. So they gave Shawn an antibiotic shot in the butt (he loved that), and we had to go to the hospital to get some blood drawn. They also gave us a prescription to help him with the nausea. That helped a lot. Also, his brother and dad came to give him a blessing. Thanks a million!! Later that day the doctor called and said that the blood showed that there was some kind of bacterial infection. So that combined with the flu or food poisoning was what was making him so sick. But good news, he is doing much better and besides us both being exhausted, we are counting our blessings and glad that it wasn't anything too serious!
