Arizona Trip

Over Spring Break, Shawn and I decided to head down to Mesa, AZ to spend time with family. We stayed with Shawn's brother and his family. We had such a fantastic time and we were really lucky to take our puppy, Sawyer, with us.

One of the first things we did was go the the Phoenix Zoo. It really is an awesome zoo and we must have gone at the right time. The animals were all out and very playful. We saw an elephant give itself a bath and play in the water with a ball. We also saw a baby orangutan playing around. She was super cute. There were several other animals out and about. Then we did my most favorite thing. We got to pet rays. There were tons of rays in this pool and they just kept swimming around the pool. As they would pass you could put your hand in and pet them. I loved it. Shawn on the other hand, was not too thrilled about it. He finally got up the courage to touch one but then he was done. So fun.

The next day we went and visited the Mesa Temple  and the Visitors Center. It was perfect weather and the temple grounds were gorgeous.

Now we couldn't visit Arizona without going to see a game. It was spring training and since we love the Angels we just couldn't pass up the opportunity. Well we're slackers and waited til we got to Arizona to get tickets. And lo and behold the games were sold out. So we were bummed. Luckily Shawn has connections and we were able to get VIP passes to two games. What that means is that we got in for free and we could sit anywhere we wanted as long as no one else was sitting there. We found a prime place in the grass so that the nephews could maybe catch a ball. It was so incredibly hot and Shawn and I burned pretty bad. But being up close and personal and watching the Angels play was so much fun!

The rest of the time that we spent there was just relaxing. We played a lot of Wii and also went swimming. This picture is a perfect shot of our farmers tans. Gotta love the sun!

Sawyer had so much fun in Arizona. He loved the sun and the freedom to play in a huge backyard. He could have stayed there for much longer than the short week we were there. It was just a lot of fun to spend time with family. Oh and who wouldn't love smelling the gorgeous citrus groves that the Stinsons live in. All in all we had a fantastic time!

Hey! So glad you found my blog. I've been wondering about you for sooo long. You guys are a cute couple. My nine year old daughter said she likes your dog, but your favorite character should be Sahid. That's hers! We too love LOST, never miss an episode, even the dumb catch you up ones!
