Sawyer's Surgery

Two weeks ago Sawyer had to get surgery on both of his legs. It all started about a month and a half ago when Kim and I were playing with Sawyer in our house and out of no where he let out this high pitched squeal and started hobbling off on one leg. After a few minutes everything appeared to be fine so we didn't think much of it. From that point on he would every now and then pick up his leg and hop for a few seconds and then put it back on the ground and walk on it. So Kim and I just thought he was getting muscle cramps or something. After about 3 weeks of this we decided we should take him in for an appointment.

After an examination, the vet told us his left knee cap was popping on and off and he might have a problem with his right ACL. So she advised us to meet with the orthopedic surgeon. About a week later we did and he told us that Sawyer's right and left knee caps were popping on and off and that if we didn't get that fixed he would develop arthritis and once the arthritis started they wouldn't be able to fix it. And to make it worse that his right ACL was partially torn.
All an all we decided to go ahead with the surgery and get his knees and ACL taken care of. The doctor told us that once he was in there his knee caps and ACL were both worse than he had expected. So to say the least we are happy that we got our little man taken care of and that he will be around for many years to come.
