Nerve Test Results

On Wednesday, I had a nerve test to figure out what exactly is going on with my legs. Oh my goodness, that test is absolutely miserable. First they hooked my legs up with electrodes and then slowly sent shocks through my legs. He would start small and slowly increase the voltage. It would get to the point where my whole body would jolt. After he did this he then stuck a needle into several of my muscles to see how they were reacting. He would stick the needle in and then move it deeper and pull it shallower and kept moving the needle to get accurate readings. I couldn't help but cry. I felt a little stupid but it hurt so so bad.

So we went in today to find out the results. It was as they had told us earlier. I damaged both of my femerol nerves.

The femerol nerve runs underneath a tendon that runs from the outside of the pelvis to the inside. When I was pushing, I basically bent the nerve around the tendon. This caused major damage because the femerol nerve supplies all the info to move your quads and even into your knees. So this is why I haven't had feeling there and also why I couldn't support my weight for quite some time. The doctor told me that I should see significant improvement over the next 6-8 weeks. He also had me stand up and walk around and said that things looked good. They did set me up to have blood work done and also to have an MRI. The MRI is to make sure that there isn't any bleeding and the blood work is to make sure there is no muscle disease or other blood issues. We're really praying that everything comes back ok. I'm fine with the recovery time because I have been able to get around just fine but I sure am hoping that by the end of the 6-8 weeks that I will be 100%. I want all of the feeling back and I want to completely trust myself holding and walking with Addie. On a happier note, I decided to post these cute pics of our little bug!

This was the other day in her bouncer. She looked so darn cute and peaceful!

I still can't believe how tiny she is in her car seat. She looks bigger because she is all bundled up but in reality she is so tiny!

This was taken right after Addie had a blowout. You can kind of see it all over her shirt. We stuck her in her bathtub to get her cleaned up and I stuck her paci in to calm her down. She immediately put her hands up on her face. It was like she was saying, "Uh oh!" So cute!
