5 1/2 Months

I've been so excited to write this post. It may be a little long so I understand if you don't want to read it all. It's more for me anyway!

This has been the month of milestones. She just seemed to blossom like crazy and I can't believe my baby is growing up so quickly!!
  • Addie now loves to be hanging out with me all the time. So she hangs out on my lap a lot of the day. She is just so much more aware of everything.
  • Addie is scooting on her back. It looks so funny. She digs her heels into the ground and lifts her entire body off the ground and pushes herself. It looks like it hurts her head but she does it all the time. She can move clear across the room this way.
  • She is now rolling over like crazy. She can roll both ways and so she is constantly rolling so she can reach her toys.
  • She now loves to sleep on her stomach! I always lay her on her back but 75% of the time she rolls right over and wants to sleep on her belly.
  • Because she is rolling both ways and sleeping on her belly, she is starting to really love being on her tummy. She will roll over and play and laugh!
  • She also is trying to get up on all fours. She has done it a few times but not for very long and she buries her face in the ground when she does it! It's really cute.
  • We got her this cute high chair now that she is eating solids. She loves solids so much! She is constantly grabbing the spoon and helping me shove it into her mouth.
  • She loves big people food more than her baby food for sure! I had an ice cream cone the other day and Shawn was holding her. She got near me and buried her face in the ice cream. Then she licked her lips. She fully enjoyed it!
  • She is constantly watching us eat. She watches as each bite leaves the plate and makes it to our mouths.
  • We got her an exersaucer because she loves to be up and looking around. She figured out the toys quickly and loves it very much! I took a million pictures of her in it!!
  • She nuzzles. A lot. When I leave her for a little while to go to Young Womens or whatever, I always love coming back. As soon as I get her back in my arms, she looks in my face, smiles and then nuzzles into my neck. It is enough to make your heart just melt.
  • She is starting to get scared of strangers. Not all the time but she is not as carefree around strangers as she used to be. I got set apart as the Camp Director and when the bishopbric gathered around me, Addie started SCREAMING! She didn't stop until they finished the blessing and moved farther away.
  • She also likes to tease. When I change her diaper, she will grab my arm, lick or suck on it, let go and then look at me and laugh. It's so darling!
  • She has figured out toys. She knows which ones crinkle and which ones rattle. She doesn't just grab for whatever is in front of her. She is picking which toys she wants to play with! And she loves the ones that make noise!
  • She also will grunt or screech to get your attention. If you have her on your lap and don't look at her, she makes noises until you pay attention to her. It's so funny. Also, when I am burping her and Shawn is home, she looks over at him and makes noises until he talks to her. She has to be the center of attention.
  • Giant milestone! She is now sitting up all by herself. She has been doing this for a couple weeks but only for a few seconds at a time and was really wobbly. But now she has pretty much mastered it. She can sit up for minutes at a time! And she can even look around and play with toys without falling over.
  • It's just amazing that she hardly needs any support!!
  • She is still falling over but can get her balance back super quick.
She is just the cutest little thing ever! I wanted to post a video of her laughing but after an hour of trying to get it to work, I'm giving up. So I'll try to post it in another post! I wanted to post the video because she loves to laugh. But only at me. Apparently, mom is the most hilarious person ever. Sometimes Shawn can get her to laugh but pretty much anything I do is funny. It really makes me feel so special! I'm going to try to post it on blogger but if not, look for it on Facebook!!
