Alright, so I have really really slacked on blogging. But I have a good reason! And this is it.....
Besides the new baby, we have had a lot of fun lately with our little June bug. This year Easter was so much fun. We decorated eggs (Addie had zero interest in it, but Shawn and I loved it!), we took Addie on an Easter Egg Hunt (She didn't know what to do til she saw the candy.), and we had a fun Easter Sunday with family.
We forgot our camera at the Easter Egg Hunt so we took her out later to play with the eggs. She had such a good time!
Easter Morning!! She was so excited for her Mrs. Potato Head. She loves pulling the pieces out and putting them back in.
We have had so many funny moments in the last few months. I am really loving the age that Addie is at now. She was playing with my jacket and so we put it on her. She looked like a Jedi from Star Wars. So we took pictures thinking it was so funny and then we got this beauty! She is so ridiculously photogenic!
Doesn't she look so silly!?
We also had out first big owie in the past couple months. We were outside playing and it was one of the first really nice days weve had. So of course Addie got too excited running around and totally biffed it on the cement. I thought she had just hit her head but once I got a good look at her, she had a cut lip, her nose was bleeding and was really scratched up and her forehead was scuffed. She was really sad. This picture was taken later that night and it looks much better but her face says it all. So pathetic!
We had a great St. Patrick's Day. We've never really celebrated St. Patrick's but we thought it would be fun to do something. So we made green hashbrowns and green pancakes. I didn't want to die her milk green so I figured, green sippy, perfect. She had a good time even though she didn't care at all that her food was green. I, on the other hand, had a hard time eating it. It looked kind of gross.
Addie still is loving her bath time. Her favorite is when we do bubble baths. She picks up the bubbles and rubs it all over herself. Silly girl! And splashing is, of course, a must. We made the mistake of giving her a spoon to play with in the tub. She used it to splash and was launching water everywhere! It was so wet in our bathroom but she had a blast!
Addie loves to hide in our closet. If it ever gets too quiet, I always check there first. She sits on the floor behind Shawn's shirts and plays with her toys. It's really cute.
We got a little pack of stickers and started putting them on Addie. She didn't even try to take them off but I don't think she appreciated it much. Oh and I have to mention that I love that my 17 month old still loves to cuddle all the time.
Addie is little miss independent. We can't get snacks for her, she HAS to choose for herself. So this is a pretty common sight in our home lately!
Addie has been so cute lately with prayers. Whenever we pray we tell her to fold her arms and she crosses them and then squints her eyes closed. Once the prayer is over, she says 'Men'. Melts my heart every time.
The last thing that I have to mention is how much Addie is talking. It literally has exploded in the last week or so. She says or tries to say new words every single day. We were at my parents last night and just playing asked Addie to say grandpa. She has said pa before but only once or twice. Then all the sudden she says it clear as day. Gwan-pa. We all were shocked!! And then again this morning, she said spoon. It's amazing how she went from just making sounds and saying around 10-15 words to adding 4-5 more words in just a week. I'm absolutely eating it up!!
That's a pretty good overview from the last few months and now that I'm feeling so much better I *should* be better at blogging!
