Our Sad Little Halloween

Halloween, Halloween. Not my favorite holiday. Not Shawn's either. But we did have some good times along with some not so good times this year. Between the seeds, the slime, and the smell, pumpkin carving just isn't all that I remember it being when I was a kid. But we love being with friends so we graciously took one of our pumpkins to carve. Somehow, in our stupidity, we got the brilliant idea to carve our names into the pumpkin which took like an hour to carve. Smart huh? Anyway, we had a great time and our pumpkin turned out alright. Oh and by the way, we will be smashing the one we carved and the other one as soon as we get some time. Now that makes for  a great Halloween. 

Also this week, our ward had a trunk or treat. We figured it would be fun to dress up and go. Well, little did we know that in our ward you don't go to the trunk or treat unless you have kids. We walked around aimlessly for about a half hour and then left. Oh well. At least we got to dress up for a little bit this year. Then the day of Halloween arrived. The best part about Halloween is passing out candy to all the little kids dressed up. So Shawn and I bought candy and settled in for the night. Ding-dong. I got up and answered the door and there were three teenagers trick or treating. I gave them candy and as soon as they got it they were off to the next door. Silence the rest of the night. Yep, we only got three trick or treaters. I was so disappointed. Even though our Halloween didn't go the greatest, we had so much fun together and have a lot of great memories and funny times to remember.

P.S. Funny times... This is what happens when you decide to take an afternoon nap and your husband decides you need  to make dinner. You get two hands around your ankles and get dragged out of bed. Notice the mattress is actually off of the frame. Love him!!
