Baby's Coming!

So last night I woke up at 2:30 with horrible pains that felt like menstrual cramps. I had been having them all week but they would only last for a half hour or so. Well this time, they didn't go away. I had them all night long. So this morning I called and left a non urgent message for the nurse seeing if I could come in and get checked because of all the cramping I had all night. I haven't been checked yet this pregnancy and don't have an appointment for another two weeks so I really wanted to go in and make sure things were ok. When she called back she acted like I was over reacting a bit but I insisted on coming in. Finally she relented and said I could come in whenever I wanted and they would fit me in. But she told me that she would have to check me because my doctor was too busy. Fine, whatever. As long as I get checked.

I waited til Shawn came home for lunch and then we headed to my OB's office. I was still having cramping but it wasn't as bad as last night. They called me in and took my blood pressure. It was normal. Addie's heartrate was 156 so that was good news. Then she left the room and I got ready to be checked. My doctor came in!! I was so excited that I got to meet with him and not the nurse. He checked me and guess what!? I'm 3 cm dilated and 80% effaced!!! Holy crap! He told me that he would be shocked if I made it to 39 weeks and thinks that she will come in the next 2 weeks. I was not expecting that! My doctor told me to pack my bags and pre admit to the hospital. He also said that once my contractions get closer to head in and they won't stop them.

We are so excited but I still feel like its a little early since I will only be 36 weeks on Sunday. So here's to hoping that I make it at least another week but I'm not sure i'll last that long! Oh my goodness, I did not expect this with my first baby!
