So I am making a goal to update this blog every week. We shall see how that goes! Well since I'm only 6 weeks away from having a baby girl, it's probably a good idea to actually post about this pregnancy!
We found out that we were expecting in February. Because I had a miscarriage before, I really wanted to wait before we told anyone. I was put on progesterone pills to help the pregnancy out and it worked! Every time we went in to the doctors we heard that perfect little heartbeat. I was really sick for the first trimester but once the second trimester hit, everything was perfect. I had energy, an appetite and started to finally feel movement!
About a week before we were going to find out the gender of our baby, I had such a cool experience. Shawn and I were saying our evening prayers when I had the strongest feeling that we needed to find a girls name that started with an A. Once the prayer was over, I immediately grabbed Shawn's phone and looked up names. There was only one name that stuck out to me. Adalyn. I told Shawn what had happened and then started to second guess myself because I had always felt that I would have all boys. Well we went in to our big ultrasound in July and found out that we were having a little girl! I was shocked! It was such a good feeling. So even though Adalyn was not on our list originally, we knew that that was here name. We had already picked June out as a middle name in honor of Shawn's grandma and it's also Shawn's mom's middle name. Well once we told the family what her first name was going to be we found out that Shawn's great grandma's name was Addie. Such an incredible feeling. I really feel that her name was meant to be.
The movement has by far been my favorite part of being pregnant. I loved all the slight movements at first and now the movements are so so big and its so fun! Shawn gets a bit freaked out sometimes at how much my stomach is moving. This little girl has so much energy and is so strong! I love it when she has the hiccups. She gets them 2-3 times a day and its such a fun sensation. Sometimes the only place I feel the hiccups is in my rear end and that's a weird feeling. But I wouldn't trade it for anything.
Now that I'm in the third trimester, I have started to get a bit more uncomfortable. My hips have started hurting from sleeping on my side but once I'm up for the day, the hip pain goes away. I also have been getting up between 4-5 times a night to go to the bathroom. But luckily, I can fall right back asleep. So I'm not terribly tired. It really has been a piece of cake pregnancy. I can't complain! I'm just hoping these next 6 weeks go by just as easily and that delivery isn't too bad! That's the only thing I'm nervous about!
Well, I've posted these pics on Facebook but here are my belly pics so far....
This is right after we found out we were having a girl! 20 weeks!

I'm glad you made a goal to keep you blog more updated that way we can all keep our eye on you! ;) Congrats again... can't wait to see pics of little adalyn! (love the name btw!)
Kim that name is adorable... and you look adorable! Congrats. Can't wait to see more pics.
Kim that is an amazing story! I love how you got her name! Don't worry about the comments, I was getting those shocked looks when I was 6 months- that's how BIG I was! Go figure, I had an almost 10 pound baby! You are tiny and so the baby has no where else to go but out! That just means it will be easier for you to lose the weight once she is here!
