Addie's Blessing

Today was such a special day! Addie is exactly two months and we were able to bless her today. Shawn has been very nervous about saying the right things and not forgetting anything. I kept telling him that he shouldn't worry, he would do great. And I was right. He gave her the most amazing blessing. The things that stood out to me were that she would have a close relationship with her Heavenly Father and also with us as her parents, that she would live a life of service and that she would make a difference in the lives of those around her. I just couldn't stop crying. It touched me so much and I haven't felt the Spirit that strong since the day she was born. We were so lucky to have our close family participate in the blessing. Shawn's dad and brothers, Dave and Bryan and also my dad, brother, Nate and my grandpa as well stood in the circle.

After the blessing we went back to my parents house to have a small luncheon. It felt so good to have family and friends support us and join us on this special day. We took so many pictures and just laughed and had a good time. I am so so blessed to have an amazing family and incredible in-laws.

I love this picture. I feel so lucky to be able to take a 4 generation picture. Aren't we a good looking bunch?

Now for the best part, our little Addie bug. She was so good during the blessing. She woke up just before they started and everyone who participated said that she just wiggled all over the place! Afterwards, we were able to keep her happy enough to take some really great pictures of her. I just couldn't get enough! Oh and if I do say so myself, she sure looks good in white!!

Now to brag a little. I think her dress is absolutely amazing. And to make it even more special, Shawn's mom made this dress for us. We were able to tell her what we wanted and she made it. I had some ideas but kind of just let her take the wheel. She did amazing. When we put Addie in the dress to see if it fit, I couldn't believe how perfectly it fit her personality. It really was made with her in mind. I love all the detailing and unfortunately the pictures just don't do the dress justice. Guess you'll have to take my word for it.

All in all, it really was a perfect day. It could not have gone any better and I'm so in love with my sweet little girl!!
